Xiaomi has scheduled an event today (December 28,2020) for the launch of its flagship series Mi 11. Xiaomi has announced the event via its Weibo social networking platform. The preorders of the said series has already started on JD.com and more than 226,000 people have already signed up for the device.
This smartphone will be launched on 28 December, 2020, but it is evident that Xiaomi has already secured a win in sales target for this smartphone, even before the launch.
This will be the first smartphone to be launched with Snapdragon 888 5G mobile platform from Qualcomm by Xiaomi. This will be the flagship processor for the upcoming premium smartphones from Realme, OnePlus, Samsung and other manufacturers, for the year 2021.
Through various leaks and rumors, it has been established that the smartphone (Mi 11) supports a corner punch-hole display, with a curved display on all sides. It will also house a square camera design which will include triple cameras and a LED flash. The Snapdragon processor will be the main highlight of this Mi 11 series smartphone (Mi 11 & Mi 11 Pro). Furthermore, a higher refresh rate display and an amazing fast charging is also expected.
The display will support a 6.7” QHD+ resolution with up to 120Hz display refresh rate. Mi 11 series will come with MIUI 12.5, over the top of Android 11 version. MIUI 12.5 will be launched on the same day as well on the launch event.
It is also rumored that Mi 11 will support a 108MP camera on the back and Mi 11 Pro will support a 192MP on its back. This is quite possible as Snapdragon 888 supports cameras up to 200MP. Last but not the least, Mi series will provide fastest connectivity peripherals and also support LPDDR5 Ram.
The expected price of the base model of Mi 11 could be $688 and Mi 11 Pro will cost around $749. These prices are yet to be confirmed and will be China exclusive only. Prices on international versions could be slightly higher.
