The recently launched Samsung galaxy S21 Ultra is the most premium flagship smartphone in the Android world, but this could change soon, when Realme launches “Realme Race Pro”.

Realme has tipped with some specs of its two upcoming smartphones to TechRadar. One of these smartphones is from a new series of premium smartphones from the company and another one is the successor to Realme X7 Pro (launched at the end of year 2020).

Some prominent specifications have been tipped to TechRadar but the details on design, pricing and camera optics have been kept secret at this time.

The premium smartphone is the Realme Race Pro which shares the same screen size of 6.8” and a resolution of 3200 X 1440, with the Galaxy S21 Ultra, but the screen refresh rate is upgraded from 120Hz  to 160Hz. Although this shows the prowess of display technology, there might not be enough application support for 160Hz at launch, only native apps might benefit from such a high refresh rate. The battery will be a 500mAh with 125W fast charging technology. As being the top tier smartphone from the company it will be equipped with a Snapdragon 888 SoC.

On the other hand, Realme X9 Pro will also launch, which is not a premium flagship but more like a flagship killer (upper mid-range) device. It supports a 6.4” display with 1080 X 2400 resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Furthermore, it will support a 4500mAh battery with 65W fast charging support. This smartphone will support Dimensity 1200 SoC, which is no slouch either, as it will probably outperform Snapdragon 865 SoC easily.

Both smartphones will launch at the end of Q1 2021, with Android 11 on board and an overlay of Realme UI 2.0.

Realme Race Pro will be the first attempt of the company to take the crown of best Android smartphone of the year, which is currently held by Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. Nonetheless, Xiaomi will not keep quiet and will also launch smartphones to meet this new competition.
