BUSINESS PLAN COMPETITION OVERVIEW

MeChat Universe vision of becoming the go-to sport for business enters a new phase with the introduction of MeChat Universe annual World Building Tournament. 

The World Building Tournament is an exclusive business plan competition, mostly virtual, that’s open to anyone looking for funding or help with starting a business. MeChat Universe and the World Building Tournament gives users a way to get both, without loosing ownership.

Signup is easy and users only need a business idea to play in the contest. 

MeChat Universe will give users the online software to convert their ideas into a viable business plan. Users will use the technology to gain valuable skills, experiences, and financial education to be successful.
 
MeChat Universe gives users the business plan  tournament to develop their business plan then use it to:

Purpose

Our mission is to encourage entrepreneurship in hood communities, while supporting the next generation of global leaders.

Eligibility

* Any industry allowed
* Business plans are entered by individuals
* Each team may enter one idea
* Each team must have at least one currently registered MeChat Universe user
* Business plans must be the work of users.
* Users must commit to achieving their vision.
* Business plans must disclose any funding already received at the time of registration.

Judging Criteria 

Users will be judge based on their ability to create a new story world in MeChat Universe based on:

• impact of mission statement 
• creativity
• feasibility of mission statement
• execution of business plan
• quality of their business plan
• synergy between business plan concepts

Timelines/ Deadlines

• PHASE 1 - Now until July 2023: Offseason
• PHASE 2- July 3, 2023- Sep 2023: Qualifying Round
• PHASE 3 - TBD 2023: Qualified Selections
• PHASE 4 - Sep 3, 2023 - Nov 2023: Quarterfinals Skills Challenge
• PHASE 5 - Nov 2023 - Dec 3, 2023: Semi-Finals Judging synergy between the story world and business plan   
• PHASE 6 - December 4, 2023: Finalists. Graduation. Presentation of Business Ideas.

PHASE 1 - The Off-season

Throughout the off-season, users can practice for the tournament using an original idea or an existing business plan from a previous year. 

Users use the off-season to:

1. learn the software
2. explore the universe
3. practice for the World Building Tournament
4. complete business concepts 
5. level up

PHASE 2 - Qualifying Round

The Qualifying Round tests the viability of the Business Plan. Users begin with a blank business plan template and must create a business plan before the end of the Round.  

The following 10 Business Plan Concepts must be completed successfully before the Round ends:

1. Executive Summary
2. Business Description
3. Industry Overview
4. Competitor Analysis
5. Competitive Advantage
6. Products and Services
7. Sales Strategy
8. Market Analysis
9. Marketing Plan
10. Operational Strategy

Everyone who succeeds will automatically invited to PHASE 3.

PHASE 3 - Qualified Selections: Video Presentation of Business Idea

Qualifiers will have a chance to pitch their ideas to a panel of judges by uploading a 90 second video for the chance to win a $5,000 Grand Prize or the $2,000 Peer Choice Award.

Qualifiers must also submit a completed business plan, cap table, verification of established legal entity and tax forms by the end of the phase.

PHASE 4 - Quarterfinals: Skills Challenge

Quarter finalists are pair up with their peers for business planning and execution. Together they will create e team with a virtual $3,000 budget for marketing and/or business development expenses. 

The team will demonstrate each team members business model and prove their idea works. Users are judged as a team and individual contribution.

PHASE 5 - Due diligence and synergy between the story world and business plan   

Semi-Finalist are judged based on their ability to effeciently stay true to their mission statement and create a mission that has a positive impact on world or their local community.

Semi-Finalist must demonstrate their knowledge of market share and planned use of prize winnings to advance their mission statement and normal operations. 

The Marketing Director from each business plan will present their 90-second pitch online for panel judging. 

PHASE 6 - Graduation

Top Finalists showcase their overall vision to compete for the $100,000 business plan award.

The CEO from each business plan will present their 90-second pitch for audience polling. 

The top business plans will be chosen according to the number of votes from the audience. Judges will choose a grand prize winner to receive a cash prize of $100,000 and a runner-up to receive $25,000. Both depends on final prize pot.

Where is the Competition Held?

Most of MeChat Universe Business Plan Competition is hosted online. In-person locations will new announced later. Winners are contacted via website, email, phone, media.

1. 3% of Prize pool up to $100,00 in investment, cash prizes, and rewards awarded to individuals competing.
2. Additional 10% of Prize pool in investment, cash prizes, and rewards awarded to the teams competing.
